Meet the BRWM team

We’re sure you’ll get to know all us in due course, but here’s an initial introduction to our dynamic team.

Richard-Wood-BRWM

Richard Wood

Managing Director

Richard founded BRWM in 2000, the result of his vision to provide a truly client-focused wealth preservation service.

His pioneering approach has been shaped by the study of global best practice and he’s personally visited many of the leading investment experts and fund managers across the world.

Richard completed a degree in Business Studies and Economics at Birmingham University before training as a Certified Accountant; later undertaking further qualifications as a financial planner.

He set up Taylor Wood Financial Management in 1994, which merged with Barnett Ravenscroft in 2000.

Outside work, Richard enjoys life in the fast and the slow lanes, with interests including cars, cycling, skiing, rugby, mountain climbing, reading and creative writing.

A single dad who has raised four children, he loves relaxing with his family.

He plans to live until he’s 125.

Igors Alferovs

Operations Director

A Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Wealth Manager, Igors has been instrumental in establishing the procedures that have transformed BRWM from a financial services provider to a specialist in wealth management.

His career in financial services began in 1980 with an international employee benefits consultancy, initially focusing on corporate pensions. He went on to set up his own business offering bespoke financial planning services.

Igors holds the Investment Management Certificate, is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Away from the world of wealth management, Igors enjoys submerging himself into a wide range of literary works whilst listening to classical music.

A keen walker, he also enjoys rambles on the Malvern Hills and wandering along Australia’s never-ending beaches.

NickOsullivan

Nick O'Sullivan MBE

Wealth Manager

Nick joined Barnet Ravenscroft in 2020. A qualified wealth manager, Nick quickly became an integral part of the BRWM team.

Having spent more than 12 years in the Royal Marines, Nick received his MBE in 2016 for “showing selfless determination and exemplary professional zeal”.  He brings these same qualities to his work supporting his clients.  His focus and leadership in helping clients achieve financial freedom is relentless and he strives to ensure that his clients know how to make their money work for today, as well as tomorrow.

When not at work, you’ll typically find Nick spending his time as a devoted father, fitness enthusiast (he’s tried his hand at most things) or out in the hills and mountains of the UK.

Amanda-Mogg

Amanda Mogg

Office Manager

A fully-qualified financial planner, Amanda specialises in client liaison, taking a hands-on role and dealing with portfolio and investment queries on a day-to-day basis.

Clients benefit from Amanda’s experience and expertise developed during a 30-year career in financial planning.

At weekends Amanda may be spotted travelling around the UK in her family’s motorhome. She can also be seen at the trackside, supporting her son Jack, who’s an indoor go-karter.

Fitness is also important to Amanda and she enjoys Pilates, swimming and attending classes at her local gym.

Kerry-Johnstone

Kerry Johnstone

Client Relationship Manager

Liaising with clients on a daily basis, Kerry is always on hand to relieve them of the burden of overseeing their portfolios and investments.

Kerry holds a degree in financial services and is currently completing a diploma in financial planning with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

An avid fitness enthusiast, Kerry relishes the challenge of a body combat class. She also enjoys flying to warmer climes, while Devon remains a favourite UK destination.

Poppy-Shepard

Poppy Sheppard

Administration Assistant

An important member of BRWM’s administrative support team, Poppy is extending her qualifications and is studying ‘UK Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics’.

This is set to lead to a Level 3 in Financial Administration awarded by the CII (Chartered Insurance Institute).

Away from her studies, Poppy enjoys socialising and travelling to different overseas destinations, believing there are too many places to see without going to the same place twice!
